Modi launches PM Viksit Bharat Rozgaar Yojana: Direct support of Rs 15,000
Addressing the nation on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched PM Viksit Bharat Rozgaar Yojana project that has a corpus of Rs 1 lakh crore.
Kolkata: Now a direct financial support programme that promises Rs 15,000 support to each youth to promoting entrepreneurship, skill development and self-reliance. Christened PM Viksit Bharat Rozgaar Yojana, this programme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday while delivering the Independence Day Speech.
"My country’s youth, today is 15th August, and on this very day, we are launching a scheme worth Rs 1 lakh crore for the youth of our country. From today, the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana is being implemented," he said. The scheme is rolling out from today itself, the PM said.
"Under this scheme, young men and women getting their first job in the private sector will receive Rs 15,000 from the government. Companies that create more employment opportunities will also be given incentive amounts. The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana will create nearly 3.5 crore new employment opportunities for the youth," Modi added.
Mudra loans for grassroots level entrepreneurship
In the speech Modi also spoke of how the Mudra loans are helping promote grassroots level entrepreneurship in the country. The PM's speech was full of references to addresses to the country's youth. he urged the youth to work towards the goal of turning the nation into a developed one by 2047. "It is not far off. We don't have a moment to waste," he exhorted the people from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Friday morning.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the role of women in India’s economic growth. "Two crore women have become ‘lakhpati didis’ in no time. Several of them are seated in front of me here at the Red Fort,” he said. Modi also referred to the expanding role of women self help groups. He spoke of how they are coming up fast and how their products are increasingly finding new markets.
