Quant Mid Cap Funds portfolio rejig: Sells IRCTC, buys Anthem Biosciences & more

New Delhi: Quant Mid Cap Fund of Quant Mutual Fund has made a big change in its portfolio in the month of December. While the fund has completely exited from IRCTC, it has increased its stake in five shares including Anthem Biosciences. This shift reflects the changing strategy and selective investment in the mid-cap space. So let's find out which stocks this fund house has expressed confidence in.
The fund house sold about 16.55 lakh shares from its portfolio in the month of December, with a market value of about Rs 113 million. Along with this, the fund has completely exited the shares present in its portfolio from IRCTC.
Anthem Biosciences Leads Quant's Mid-Cap Buys
While Quant Mid Cap shunned IRCTC, it has increased its stake in 5 shares. One of these is Anthem Biosciences. In this, the fund made huge purchases. In December, it bought about 18.77 lakh shares of the company, which increased the total stake in this stock to 50.77 lakh shares.
Besides this, the fund added 16.58 lakh shares in PB Fintech, 12.09 lakh shares in SBI Cards and Payment Services, 4.30 lakh shares in Premier Energies and 3.88 lakh shares in Godrej Properties in its portfolio.
While the fund has shown more confidence in some stocks in its portfolio, it also recovered profits from some stocks. GMR Airports is also one of these. With this, about 2.66 crore shares were sold, from which the fund's total stake was 4.53 million shares in November, which was reduced to 1.87 million shares in December.
During this time, Biocon made a place in the fund's portfolio as a new entry stock. Its 7.80 lakh shares were purchased. Quant Mid Cap Fund's December portfolio comprised a total of 22 stocks, which is equivalent to the previous month. At the same time, no change has been made in 15 shares, which include names like LIC Housing Finance, Reliance Industries, Tata Power, ITC, Life Insurance Corporation, JSW Infrastructure, Linde India and Orbindo Pharma. The AUM of Quant Mid Cap Fund is Rs 8,351 crore.
