Bengaluru: The Bangalore Electricity Distribution Company Limited (BESCOM) has announced scheduled maintenance work from November 24 to November 26 across several power stations in the city. This exercise is expected to cause electricity interruptions lasting up to seven hours in many neighbourhoods.
According to the company, a three-hour cut is planned for Monday, November 24, while longer outages of nearly seven hours may occur on November 25 and 26. BESCOM has requested residents to cooperate during the maintenance period.
As per the notice issued by the utility, electricity supply may be unavailable between 9 am and 12 pm on November 24. Emergency maintenance work will be carried out at the K.V. Vidya Substation in Bengaluru, with the operation handled by KPDCL.
Residents in the affected locations have been informed that they may experience irregular supply through the duration of the work.
Areas affected on November 24
In addition, regions connected to the 66/11 kV Abbikere Substation may also face disruptions on Monday. These include Kammakondanahalli, Raghavendra Padavane, Lakshmipur, Vatherahalli, Abbikere Industrial Area, Pipeline Road, Nisarga Padavane, Kempegowda Padavane and Kalanagar Main Road.
Localities supplied by the 220/66/11 kV Peenya Substation may see shortages as well. These areas include Peenya 10th and 11th Main Roads, the Udupi Hotel stretch, IR Polytechnic Road, Lakkare Village, Lovekush Nagar, Raghavendra Nagar and Choudeswari Nagar from 6th to 9th Cross.
BESCOM has further stated that its teams will continue link-line maintenance in the Katsandra division on November 25 and 26. Because of this, power supply may remain unavailable between 10 am and 5 pm on both days.
Areas affected on November 24
Most villages around Gandhamachanahalli will be hit by the outage. These include Hullenahalli, Kalingayyanapalya, Holakallu, Singipalya, Badesaba-Rapalya, Virupasandra and Veeranaya-Kanahalli.
BESCOM-Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited-manages power distribution across eight districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumakuru, Chitradurga and Ramanagara. The company oversees an operational area covering 41,092 square kilometres.
