New Delhi: In a shocking incident reported from Delhi, a 16-year-old boy died by suicide. The incident was reported from West Delhi's Rajendra Place metro station on Wednesday. The boy reportedly jumped in front of an approaching train at the station.
According to a report in India Today, the police recovered a suicide note written by the school boy, in which he has blamed his teachers for his death. He named some of his school teachers and said that he had been undergoing immense mental harassment. The boy also wished to donate his organs.
The boy had reportedly left for his drama club, and jumped in front of the approaching train at 2:34 pm. Other passengers at the metro station immediately intervened and took him ton a nearby hospital for treatment. However doctors at the facility declared him dead.
Talking to media persons, the boy's father said that his son was unhappy about the treatment he received at his school. In the suicide note, the boy also talked about how his parents and family had raised the issue of his mental health issue with school authorities several times, but the school refused to act upon it.
The boy's body has been sent for autopsy, by the Delhi Police. The post mortem report is awaited.
The investigators menawhile are questioning the teachers whose names were mentioned by the boy in his suicide note. They are also talking to the boy's family and school friends to understand what kind of harassment was the boy exactly facing at school, which may have driven him to take the extreme step.
