New Delhi: Delhiites woke up another toxic air quality on Sunday morning. The AQI of the national capital remained ‘Severe’ at 385. Some areas even reported over 400 AQI this morning as the poor air quality continues to affect the health of people living in Delhi and NCR region.
As per the government data areas like Anand Vihar, Chandni Chowk, ITO, and Bawana in the national capital , the air turned ‘severe’ AQI level at of 412, 418, 417, and 436 respectively. The air quality was ‘Very Poor’ on Friday as well. This was better than earlier when the air quality turned ‘Severe’. The AQI in Noida remained 435 this morning. Same way, Greater Noida reported AQI of 452, Ghaziabad 448, and Gurgaon 377, as per CPCB data.
Earlier on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the air quality recorded 428, 418, 404 respectively. While an AQI level of 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 is considered as ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 is ‘moderate’, 201-300 is ‘poor’, 301-400 is ‘very poor’, and 401-500 is ‘severe’, as per CPCB. Thre is no relief expected from the poor quality of air quality soon, the boatd added further. According to the government data, there was 16 percent stubble burning and 18.3 percent vehicular emission resulting in pollution.
In the meantime, the temperature fell at 9.7 degree celsius on Saturday, which was the lowest this month so far, This was the first time that the temperature went below 10 degree celsius this winter session. Sundays temperature is also expected to remain at 9-11 degree celsius.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s wheather is expected to remain minimum 8-12 degree celsius between next five days, while maximum may remain between 23-27 degree celsius.
