Faridabad: A 19-year-old boy died by suicide after being blackmailed with pornographic photos and videos created using Artificial Intelligence. The police have filed an FIR against two people in the case. The incident took place in Baselwa Colony in Old Police Station area, Faridabad.

Series of events
According to reports, Rahul was a second-year student at DAV College and lived with his family in Baselwa Colony. Rahul's father, Manoj Bharti, stated that someone hacked Rahul's mobile phone about two weeks ago. After hacking the phone, some individuals used artificial intelligence (AI) to create nude photos and videos of Rahul and his sisters.
The accused sent these fake photos and videos via WhatsApp and demanded approximately Rs 20,000 rupees from Rahul. They threatened to make the videos and photos viral on social media if he failed to pay.
Rahul became extremely distressed by this. His father reported that Rahul's behaviour had completely changed over the past 15 days. He wasn't eating properly, spoke less, and often remained silent in his room. His family had no idea he was in distress due to this. Around 7 pm on Saturday evening, Rahul consumed Celphos tablets in his room. When his condition worsened, his family immediately rushed him to the hospital, but he died during treatment.
Chats with accused
The deceased's father, Manoj Bharti, reported that when he checked his son's mobile phone, he found a lengthy conversation with a man named "Sahil." In the chats, Sahil sent nude photos and videos of Rahul and demanded money. In the final conversation, he threatened to make all the photos and videos viral on social media if he didn't pay.
Furthermore, in the chats, Sahil also wrote words inciting Rahul to commit suicide and even described certain substances that could lead to his death. The family says that along with Sahil, a young man known to Rahul, Neeraj Bharti, may also be involved in this case. Rahul's father stated that Rahul last spoke to Neeraj on the day of the incident. Therefore, a police complaint has been filed, raising suspicion against both.
Manoj Bharti's family is originally from Siwan district, Bihar, and has lived in Faridabad for the past 50 years. Manoj works as a driver, and Rahul was his youngest son. The family consists of three daughters and a son. Two of the daughters are married, while the other is unmarried.
Old Police Station in-charge Vishnu Kumar stated that an FIR has been registered based on the father's complaint and the accused are being searched for. He added that this case is a serious example of cybercrime and the misuse of AI technology. Police are attempting to reach the accused based on technical evidence.
