New Delhi: Spiritual leader Acharya Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham met Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan in the capital on Thursday, September 4.
Sharing a 36-second video of the meeting on her official X (formerly Twitter) handle, @gupta_rekha, at 10:13 AM on Friday, the Chief Minister expressed her gratitude for the visit. "Acharya Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham arrived at the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan. I am thankful for this warm and affectionate meeting,” she wrote in Hindi.

CM Gupta welcomes Dhirendra Shastri at her residence
The video, accompanied by spiritual music, showed the Chief Minister welcoming Shastri with a shawl and a heartfelt gesture of respect. The two were later seen engaged in conversation during the meeting.
Attack on CM Rekha Gupta: Delhi Police appoints Special Public Prosecutor
The encounter comes just days after Rekha Gupta was attacked at a Jan Sunvai session by a man from Gujarat, who was allegedly angered by the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on stray dogs in Delhi.
In that regard, the Delhi Government has appointed senior advocate Pradeep Rana as Special Public Prosecutor to represent the Delhi Police in the case connected to the recent alleged attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The FIR, lodged at Civil Lines Police Station, pertains to an incident during a public grievance hearing at her camp office, where a man allegedly assaulted her amid discussions over the Supreme Court’s ruling on stray dogs.
According to the Home Department’s notification, Rana will represent the police in court proceedings linked to the case. Two men were arrested following the incident and remain in judicial custody.
