Ashok Nagar bridge inaugurated, to improve connectivity in Central Hyderabad
The bridge which is 48.2 metres long and 12 metres wide, is built by the GHMC at a cost of Rs 6 crore.
Hyderabad: A link bridge built across Hussain Sagar surplus nala near Ashok Nagar was inaugurated by Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday, January 2.
It will connect City Central Library, Ashok Nagar and AV College, Gagan Mahal and will significantly improve connectivity in central parts of the city.
The bridge which is 48.2 metres long and 12 metres wide, is built by the GHMC at a cost of Rs 6 crore and the signal-free corridor will enable access to Liberty Junction and GHMC head office and it will also cut travel time down between Chikkadpally to Ashok Nagar and Domalguda.

Speaking at the inauguration, Ponnam Prabhakar said that Grater Hyderabad has grown into the largest city in the country in both population and area after the recent GHMC expansion.
"Infrastructure such as roads, stormwater drains and street lighting must grow in proportion to the population,” he said.
MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLA Mutha Gopal, Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi and GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan attended the event.

The new bridge will provide a safer, shorter, and smoother route for commuters, students, and residents, while easing congestion on surrounding roads and improving overall traffic flow, GHMC said in a statement.
