Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at Davos proposed hosting a follow-up meeting of the World Economic Forum, every July in Hyderabad.
The proposal received unanimous support from global business leaders and policymakers during the “Join the Rise” event held in Davos, a statement from the CMO said.
He said that it is important to accelerate follow-ups and investment decisions in today’s fast-moving business environment.
CM, cabinet meet with Google, Unilever representatives:
Meanwhile, the CM and cabinet ministers met with representatives from renowned companies such as Google, Philips, Unilever, Expertise and representatives from the UAE government.
Google came forward to offer cooperation in cybersecurity, startups, traffic management, agriculture, and climate change. In a meeting with William Uijen, Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer of Unilever, Telangana CM held extensive discussions on the establishment of a Global Capability Center (GCC).
Minister D Sridhar Babu said that GCCs of prominent FMCG companies like McDonald's, Heineken, and Costco are already successfully operating in Hyderabad.
Saudi, UAE ready to invest in Telangana:
UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, H.E. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, stated that his government is ready to work with Telangana to develop Future City into a world-class city.
He met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Davos on Tuesday. During the meeting, Revanth Reddy explained the 'Telangana Rising 2047' vision.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said that he is interested in establishing a joint task force with UAE and Telangana officials to expedite the project, and also in strengthening Telangana's rural and agriculture-based economy in collaboration with the UAE Food Cluster.
Expertise, a leading industrial company from Saudi Arabia, has expressed interest in partnering with Young India Skills University. The company's President and CEO, Mohammed Asif, met with a delegation from 'Telangana Rising'. On this occasion, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that the Skills University was established with the aim of bridging the gap between the education system and industries.
