Hyderabad: Two car accidents leave one dead; one injured

The victim who was burnt alive, parked his car and left the air conditioning on and fell asleep.

Hyderabad: Two car accidents on the outskirts of the city left one person dead and another wounded.

In the first tragic accident, a car driver was charred to death after his vehicle caught fire on the Outer Ring Road (ORR) near Shamirpet on Monday morning. The driver parked his car and was reportedly sleeping when the car burst into flames, leaving the driver trapped in the vehicle.

Preliminary investigation suggested that the victim who was burnt alive, parked his car and left the air conditioning on and fell asleep. Technical malfunction may have triggered the fire, police said.

The individual was traveling from Shamirpet towards Keesara and stopped near Leonio restaurant. Shamirpet Police along with Clues team, began a detailed investigation to confirm the victim’s identity and the cause of fire.

Car crashes into roadside shops in Alwal:

In another accident, a driver was gravely injured after crashing his car into several roadside shops near Select Theatre in Alwal area of the city.

Police suspect that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and lost control while traveling from Machabollaram to Select Theatre. The vehicle was crushed completely due to the force of the collision.

Many shops were left damaged and no casualties were reported.  The injured driver has been moved to a nearby hospital for treatment. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
