New Delhi: Asif Nagar Police have intensified their ongoing “Chabutra Mission” to maintain peace and order in the area. Late-night loitering on streets and sitting on local chabutras (raised platforms) had led to frequent disturbances, prompting the police to take strict action against those involved.
According to officials, groups of youngsters were often found sitting on chabutras or roaming the streets late at night, causing inconvenience and discomfort to residents. Following repeated complaints, Asif Nagar Police initiated immediate enforcement measures.
While detaining the individuals, the police asked, “Raat der tak chabutron par kyun baithe rehte ho? Ab subah tak yahin PS mein aaraam se baitho, yahan roshni bhi acchi hai.” This translates to “Why sit in the streets late at night? Now, sit peacefully here in the police station until morning. We even have good lighting here.”
The SHO also counseled the detainees on avoiding late-night gatherings. Action was taken under Mission Chabutra within Asifnagar PS limits, Hyderabad.
Residents appreciated the proactive steps taken by Asif Nagar Police, noting that late-night gatherings and loud conversations had been creating unease in the locality. With this operation, they hope that peace and discipline will be restored.
Authorities warned that anyone found “warming the chabutra” or roaming aimlessly late at night in the future will face strict legal action.
