Mumbai: Several parts of the city are set to witness water supply cuts for 30 hours next week. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed the consumers that it will undertake pipeline cross-connection work which is linked to Amar Mahal underground tunnel shafts.
In Ghatkopar (East), the BMC will link a 2,500 mm water main to existing 3,000 mm main at Chheda Nagar Junction. The civic body said that the work is important to integrate the Amar Mahal Tunnel (Shafts 1 and 2) with Mumbai’s water distribution system.
The BMC added that the water supply disruption will begin at 10 am on Monday (December 1), and continue until 4 pm on Tuesday (December 2). The water cut will directly impact 11 wards in Mumbai and its suburbs.
The BMC also shared the update on social media via X, "Due to the work of the water supply department, a 15 percent cut in water supply in 14 administrative departments! #MyBMCUpdates"
The citizens are requested to check BMC updates for all the information regarding water cut, emergency water supply and other details.
