New Delhi: The University of Allahabad has begun accepting online applications for PhD admission 2025-2026. The online registration window for Allahabad University PhD admission 2025-26 will be available from September 25 to October 22, 2025. The total seats for PhD admission across 43 subjects is 873, which includes 534 inthe University Campus and 339 in the Constituent colleges.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for Allahabad University PhD admission 2026 through the registration link available on the website at allduniv.ac.in. Candidates must qualify in the UGC/CSIR exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to be considered for the PhD program.
Allahabad University PhD eligibility criteria
Candidates must have a master's degree with a minimum of 55 per cent marks to register for Allahabad University PhD admission. Candidates belonging to EWS/ OBC/ SC/ ST/ PwD must have 50 per cent. It is advised to check the eligibility criteria meticulously before kick-starting the registration process.
The official notice reads, "Candidates who have qualified UGC/CSIR NET in June 2024, December 2024 and June 2025 " will be eligible for consideration in PhD admissions in the academic session 2025-26. "
What is Allahabad University's part-time PhD option?
The University has rolled out a part-time PhD option for working professionals. Candidates who aspire to pursue PhD and a daily job face a hurdle can register for admission. One must have a minimum of 5 years' professional experience in recognised organisations as per the PhD admission brochure.
Allahabad University PhD admission process
- Candidates must complete the registration process online on the official portal at allduniv.ac.in.
- The registration fee for PhD admission is Rs 600 for UR/ OBC/ EWS/ exempted applicants. It is Rs 300 for candidates belonging to SC, ST and PwD categories.
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on NTA/ CSIR-UGC score only.
- The final merit list will be prepared based on the maximum academic performance score, total marks obtained and research aptitude test.
