Mumbai: An AI adaptation of the Mahabharata, streaming on JioHotstar, has the internet laughing out loud. The show first created a controversy for solely using AI. But now, it's making people laugh with its mind-blowing blunders. Many netizens took to social media to point out the presence of modern furniture in ancient Hastinapur.

Created by Collective Media Network, Mahabharat – Ek Dharmayudh is being released in an episodic format. The first episode was released on 25 October. It showcased the birth of Prince Devvrat to Hastinapur’s King Shantanu. A particular scene showed Goddess Ganga with a young child in a palace room, and viewers were quick to notice the blunders made by AI. The room was decorated with modern furniture. Despite it being a few-second video, netizens trolled the makers all over social media.

They were not ready to let it slide. They took screenshots of the shot and shared it online. One wrote, "Watching AI Mahabharata on Jio Hotstar.. I’m dying at the bedside desk." Another shared, "My mum was watching it day before, and I was beside she was saying 'see so perfect they look' then I explained to her that an AI mom, she got upset really (last generation to be innocent)." Another individual commented, "In one scene, there is a picture (on the bed wall) of a person wearing suit.”

One joked that the only thing missing was a wireless charger. Netizens heavily criticised the show and stated that it looked unreal. "For many of us, the Mahabharat is more than just a story; it's the tales we grew up hearing from our parents and grandparents, stories that shaped our imagination and values. With AI Mahabharat, we get to experience those same timeless stories in a completely new way, brought to life through the power of modern AI technology," said Vijay Subramaniam, founder & group CEO of Collective Artists Network.
