New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has once again stepped forward to support those in need, pledging Rs 5 crore to aid relief efforts in flood-affected areas of Punjab. The northern state has been grappling with one of its most severe natural disasters in recent years. The Jolly LLB 3 actor’s timely contribution is expected to provide crucial assistance to victims struggling to recover.
Confirming the donation, Akshay shared, "Yes, I am giving Rs 5 crores for buying relief material for the Punjab flood victims, but who am I to ‘donate’ to anyone? I feel blessed when I get an opportunity to extend a helping hand. For me, it’s my sewa, my very small contribution. I pray that the natural calamity that has struck my brothers and sisters in Punjab passes soon. Rab mehr kare.”

This is not the first instance where Akshay has extended his support during a humanitarian crisis. Meanwhile, Punjabi actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has also addressed the flood situation, offering his support through a heartfelt message. He stated, "Punjab zakhmi hai. Par hara nahin hai (Punjab is wounded, but not defeated),” emphasising the resilience and spirit of the state amid adversity.
Akshay's pledge arrives at a critical moment, as relief operations continue across the region. Aid is being channelled to provide essential supplies such as food, clean water, and medical assistance to displaced families. His contribution is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts and bring much-needed relief to vulnerable communities.
