New Delhi: Family drama unfolds in Bollywood as music composer Anu Malik finally breaks his silence on nephew Amaal Mallik's bold accusations. With allegations flying around about sabotaging careers and family betrayals, Anu Malik chooses to answer with dignity and wisdom.
His response is a lesson on dealing with negativity in the spotlight. Read on to discover what Anu Malik has to say about his nephew’s shocking claims and how he plans to move forward by focusing on his music and legacy.
The Bollywood music industry saw a storm recently after Amaal Mallik, currently starring in Bigg Boss 19, accused his uncle Anu Malik of sabotaging his father Daboo Malik’s career and abandoning him during the 2005 Mumbai floods.
Anu Malik finally reacted to these strong allegations in a candid interview with Hindustan Times. He said, “A lie told 1,000 times will never become the truth. One can’t waste energy reacting to everything.” Malik added how his father, the composer Sardar Malik, once guided him to stay away from negativity. “My father always told me, never allow poison to churn in your mind. If you do, you’ll never be a good composer. People may hurt you, but they can’t take away your talent; that’s yours. I sit at my piano, make a new tune, and that’s my answer to the world,” Anu shared.
Despite family controversies, Anu Malik chooses to focus on his music. He is currently working on songs for a new romantic film, saying, “It is a very beautiful, tender story about a girl who has to choose between love and fame. The director told me, ‘I want songs that will stand the test of time.’ That’s how it all began.”
The senior composer ended with a frank confession regarding his talent and how the music industry has perceived it. He said, “I feel like I’ve been underused and underutilised. There’s still so much more I can give.”
