New Delhi: In his remarkable career, Salman Khan has headlined an array of blockbuster films. Among them, one that holds a special place in the hearts of cinema lovers is Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The comedy drama, directed by renowned filmmaker Kabir Khan, took the silver screen by storm on July 17, 2015. It not only brought a touching story to life but also mesmerised moviegoers with scenic shooting locations in the backdrop of captivating scenes.
But where was the much-talked-about flick filmed? Well, let's find out! If you have watched Bajrangi Bhaijaan, you must know that a significant part of the plot revolves around Pakistan. However, in reality, the filming was not done in the neighbouring country.
In fact, the film was shot entirely in India. According to a TV9Hindi report, most of Bajrangi Bhaijaan was filmed in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Reportedly, the town is situated near Anantnag city in the Anantnag district.
According to Sacnilk, Bajrangi Bhaijaan raked in Rs 432.46 crore at the Box Office in India during its theatrical run. The industry tracker further states that it earned Rs 489.71 crore overseas, taking its total collection to Rs 922.17 crore.
The film also featured Harshaali Malhotra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Sharat Saxena and Alka Badola Kaushal in pivotal roles. The plot revolves around an Indian man with a heart of gold who leaves no stone unturned to reunite a young mute Pakistani girl with her family.
On IMDb (Internet Movie Database), the film has been rated 8.1 out of 10, with insights from more than one lakh users of the platform. Boasting Pritam’s chartbuster music, Bajrangi Bhaijaan managed to attract massive footfalls to theaters during its cinematic outing. The movie was also honoured with several accolades at multiple award functions. It is said to be one of Salman’s finest on-screen performances yet.
