Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2: The makers of Ektaa Kapoor’s iconic television drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 seem determined to make the sequel as grand and memorable as the original. Following the much-talked-about crossover with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii stars Sakshi Tanwar and Kiran Karmarkar, the show is now set to feature an unexpected international guest, Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates.

According to a report by ETimes, the billionaire tech mogul is expected to make a special virtual appearance in an upcoming storyline. His cameo will reportedly be centred around a social cause, spreading awareness about maternal and newborn health, a subject closely associated with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

As per the report, the upcoming track will include a video call interaction between Bill Gates and Smriti Irani’s beloved character, Tulsi Virani. The segment is said to run across three episodes and will focus on improving awareness regarding women’s health and prenatal care.

A source close to the production revealed, “The track will culminate in a video call between Bill Gates and Smriti Irani and will span around three episodes. The storyline focuses on raising and improving awareness about the health of pregnant women and newborns. Since the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation actively works on these causes, the collaboration came about naturally. Smriti wanted to use the show as a platform to promote health and social awareness through storytelling.”

This marks a rare crossover between the global philanthropy sector and Indian television entertainment, blending real-world advocacy with mainstream storytelling.

Recently, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 created waves when it reunited Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’s iconic couple Parvati (Sakshi Tanwar) and Om (Kiran Karmarkar) in a special episode. The emotional reunion of Tulsi and Mihir (played by Ronit Roy) was facilitated by the duo, tapping deep into the nostalgia of early 2000s television fans. The crossover reportedly helped the show record a significant rise in TRPs.
