New Delhi: Bollywood and South Indian movies lit up the box office over the weekend as several big films hit the screens. Mastiii 4, 120 Bahadur, and Vilaayath Budha arrived with much promise, while star-studded sequels and Hollywood spectacles like Now You See Me: Now You Don’t joined the party.
Here’s how these movies performed, straight from the ticket counters, with quotes and stats to give you the full picture.
Mastiii 4, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi, had moderate first-day earnings. Sacnilk reports, Mastiii 4 earned an early estimate of Rs 2.5 crore on Friday, November 21, 2025, with 9.98 per cent overall Hindi occupancy. Another trade analyst told Filmibeat, “If these box office predictions hold, Mastiii 4 could become the second-highest opener in the Masti franchise.'' However, compared to blockbusters from the same team, its start is considered soft.
120 Bahadur, a Bollywood action drama, also managed a decent opening. According to Sacnilk, “120 Bahadur earned around Rs 2.35 crore in India net on its first day (early estimates). The film had an 8.58 per cent occupancy, slightly lower than Mastiii 4. 120 Bahadur’s opening day went past 14 other films released in 2025," wrote Prabhat Khabar. However, trade circles described its start as “weak, but better than many recent releases.”
Vilaayath Budha from Mollywood performed slightly below its Hindi counterparts, collecting Rs 1.65 crore on its first day. As per Sacnilk, “Vilaayath Budha had an overall 24.08 per cent Malayalam occupancy on Friday and minted Rs 1.65 crore on its first day.” Film portals highlighted Prithviraj Sukumaran’s star power but noted the modest opening in comparison to recent hits.
According to supplied figures, De De Pyaar De 2 continued Bollywood’s franchise fever, scoring Rs 78 crore in week one, with a steady Rs 53.5 crore over the weekend, and Rs 61 crore in previous weeks. Trade reports indicate sustained audience interest in sequels, particularly those featuring prominent actors.
The Hollywood blockbuster Now You See Me: Now You Don’t dazzled with Rs 680.24 crore in its first week, far surpassing Bollywood numbers. An analyst noted, “Hollywood tentpole titles continue to dominate the Indian box office, pulling Rs 3.99 crore over the weekend and Rs 4.24 crore in other territories.
The Running Man (IMAX) grossed Rs 0.74 crore in its initial days, a niche opening.
Jigris pulled in Rs 1.98 crore, registering decent support from Tollywood audiences.
Kumki 2 saw Rs 2.13 crore over the weekend, steady but unspectacular for Kollywood.
Box office figures are early estimates and may change as more data arrives. Industry experts agree, “It’s a competitive weekend, but franchise fans and big-star names still bring audiences to theatres,” affirmed a Bollywood Hungama analyst.
