BTS' Jungkook made a surprise return to Instagram, delighting fans with a new post after a long hiatus. The unexpected update sparked a wave of excitement across ARMY, who flooded social media with heartfelt reactions and celebratory messages.
New Delhi: After a two-year hiatus, BTS member Jungkook made a much-awaited return to Instagram. And the fandom couldn't have been more thrilled. On July 19, the singer posted for the first time from his new handle and confirmed his comeback with a nostalgic nod to his Golden era.
The post featured the iconic logo from his record-smashing Golden album, which was paired with his hit track Standing Next to You. His bio was updated to read, "Jung Kook of BTS,” while his profile picture was also changed.

Within minutes, the comments section, which was left unexpectedly open, was flooded with emotional fan messages. "Welcome back, love! Missed you a lot,” read one of the many heartfelt notes, while another teased, "Could I be delusional, or is this a sign of a possible solo tour?”
Although the account was technically created in January 2025, it had flown under the radar until July 15, when fellow BTS members RM, V, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, and the official BTS and BigHit accounts followed it. The discovery was seemingly spontaneous, even among the members themselves. Once revealed, the account surpassed one million followers in just an hour and has now amassed over 8.5 million. Currently, Jungkook is following only seven accounts — and yes, that includes his second handle dedicated to his dog, affectionately titled "Bam’s Dad.”
BTS livestream from LA
The buzz around Jungkook’s Instagram return had already begun earlier in the week during a surprise live broadcast. On July 15, he appeared alongside RM and V for a livestream on Instagram, their first since beginning mandatory military service. Midway through the live, Jimin popped in from another room. Meanwhile, J-Hope, fresh from his arrival at Incheon International Airport, greeted fans via a separate Weverse broadcast.
The sudden appearance of multiple members prompted speculation of something larger in the works. And that may not be far off. The group, except for Jin and J-Hope, is reportedly in Los Angeles. They are quietly working on their upcoming album, which is reportedly slated for release in spring 2026.
