Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is facing a delayed release in India, leaving anime fans waiting longer than expected. While the film continues to dominate global headlines, here's everything you need to know about the postponement and what caused the hold-up.
New Delhi: The highly anticipated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle has been granted its theatrical premiere in Japan. However, Indian fans are facing an unexpected delay. Despite India’s status as one of the largest overseas markets for anime, the film won’t hit screens in the country until September 12, a full month after its Pakistan release.
The trilogy adapts the climactic arc of Koyoharu Gotouge’s bestselling manga and will unfold over three feature-length films. The first instalment kicks off with demon king Muzan Kibutsuji’s surprise assault on the Ubuyashiki estate, plunging Tanjiro Kamado and the Hashira into the eerie, ever-shifting maze of the Infinity Castle. Tensions are set to escalate as the Demon Slayer Corps readies itself for an all-or-nothing showdown.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie release details
Audiences in Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Hong Kong will be able to watch the film as early as August 14, with Thailand receiving it two days earlier. Meanwhile, viewers in the US, UK, Canada, and India must wait until September. The film will be released in both subtitled Japanese and English-dubbed versions.
Sony Pictures and Crunchyroll have confirmed that the Infinity Castle Trilogy will receive theatrical distribution across more than 70 countries. However, an official date for its OTT release is yet to be revealed.
