Mumbai: The much-anticipated trailer of Dhurandhar was launched on Tuesday. The cast of the movie opened up about their experiences while working on the movie. Director Aditya Dhar revealed that Sara Arjun, the actress of the movie, was selected after 1300 auditions.
"Mukesh (casting director) had done almost 1,300 auditions, and Sara was the one who got selected. She was brilliant in those auditions. Sara is going to be a rockstar," said the director. The 20-year-old will play the role of Ranveer Singh's romantic partner in the movie. Ranveer too had some words of appreciation for the actress. He stated, "She is a child prodigy. She reminds me of Dakota Fanning. She has made me look good in the film."
Who is Sara Arjun, the actress in Dhurandhar?
Sara Arjun is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun. Born in 2005, she has been a part of several Hindi and Tamil movies as a child. Her acting career was purely accidental. She was spotted at a mall with her parents and cast in her first commercial at 1,5 years old. Later, she went on to be featured in almost 100 advertisements. She even won the award for the Best Child Artist for the Tamil movie Deiva Thirumagal in 2011. Ek Thi Daayan, Jai Ho, Jazbaa, Saivam, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Saand Ki Anankh, Ajeeb Daastaans, etc, are some of her movies.
One of her noted roles was in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, where she played the younger version of Aishwarya Bachchan. The movie's release is slated to release on December 5, 2025. R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal are the other actors in the movie.
The trailer of the movie garnered the attention of many. Many claimed that they wanted more of Ranveer in the trailer. One wrote, "This needed more of Ranveer Singh, but still looks very good. Teaser was far better!" A second individual commented, "It's shot really well, but the trailer lacked a high point or that wow factor. Also, why so less of Ranveer?? It's like he is one of the characters not the main one."
