New Delhi: Gauahar Khan, the popular television actress and reality show star, recently responded subtly to comments made by her father-in-law, the famous music composer Ismail Darbar.

Ismail Darbar praised Gauahar for being a great mother but expressed his disapproval of her career. Gauahar replied indirectly through a heartfelt note about motherhood on her Instagram story, showing she does not mind the criticism.

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Ismail Darbar praised Gauahar for her wonderful relationship with her husband, Zaid Darbar and for being a hands-on mother. However, he shared that he does not support her professional work. He said, "I’m not one to mince my words. I know that I will not be able to tolerate what I see, and if I am not able to tolerate what I see, I will confront them.” He also revealed that while he cannot ask Gauahar to stop working, her husband Zaid can decide that.

Ismail compared Gauahar’s career with his wife Ayesha’s, who he said earned Rs 5 lakh a month but chose to stop working for the sake of their children. He stated, "The greatest thing my wife Ayesha did was stop working for her child’s sake… Even when I needed money, she didn’t offer to earn for us.”

Gauahar Khan’s response to Ismail Darbar

Gauahar shared a note on Instagram about the beautiful chaos of raising a boy, which seemed to be her way of responding to Ismail Darbar’s remarks without directly confronting him. Her note read, "Raising a boy is a beautiful kind of chaos. He runs instead of walks, climbs instead of sits, and shouts instead of whispers—yet he still pauses to kiss your cheek, grab your hand and call you beautiful with peanut butter on his face. Amid all the noise and mess, his softness makes you feel like you’re his whole world.”

Gauahar and Zaid Darbar, who married in 2020, are currently excited as they are expecting their first child. Gauahar's subtle dig shows her confidence in balancing career and motherhood without letting criticism affect her.
