Dwayne Johnson reveals he wanted to act in The Devil Wears Prada 2; was ready to wear heels

Mumbai: Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson revealed he was keen on joining the cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Johnson had pitched himself for a role that required wearing size 15 heels. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt are the lead actors in The Devil Wears Prada 2. 

Dwayne and Emily Blunt were acting in the movie Smashing Machine. At the time, Emily was also shooting for The Devil Wears Prada 2.

"I pitched myself. I told her when she was shooting," said the actor. Emily, who was also present at the interview, confirmed his claim.  She stated that he tried to land a "small" role in the movie. Further, Dwayne stated that he was interested in playing the role of "just someone who knew fashion, who was cool”. Emily interrupted, saying that the character had to walk in heels. 

"Size 15 heels!" said Dwayne. Emily responded by joking that the actor looked "hot" in heels. "You should see him in a pair of heels. Hot," said Emily. 

Though Dwayne wasn't able to land a role in the movie, Emily kept him updated with images from the shooting location. 

 "Emily would send me these videos; she was kind of in her car, waiting to step out on set in New York City, out in the streets, she was like, 'Look at this!'" said Dwayne.  He added, "It was wild. Like, pop star level sighting." 

The Devil Wears Prada 2  is based on the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger. The first part of the movie premiered at the LA Film Festival in June 2006. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is all set to be released in May 2026. It is directed by David Frankel.
