Emmy Awards 2025: Adolescence actor Stephan Grahams namaste moment steals the show after big win
Stephan Graham, who won big for his limited series Adolescence, greeted audience with a 'namaste' during his acceptance speech at the Emmy Awards 2025.
New Delhi: The Adolescence actor Stephan Graham clinched his first Emmy Award for his outstanding performance in Netflix’s limited series at the grand ceremony in Los Angeles on September 14. As he received the coveted award for Best Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, his acceptance speech was applauded by the audience. Interestingly, he concluded his speech with a namaste.

After bagging the coveted award, Adolescence actor Stephan Graham said in his speech, "This kind of thing doesn't normally happen to a kid like me. I'm just a mixed race kid from a block of flats in a place called Kirkby, so for me, to be here today in front of my peers and to be acknowledged by you is the utmost humbling thing I could ever imagine in my life. And it shows you that any dream is possible."
He dedicated the award to his father, who introduced him to the movies. He further dedicated the award to his wife and children and said, "You are my rock, you are my will, you are my soulmate, and you know and I know without you, I would be dead. So from the bottom of my heart, I love you with everything I have."
The highlight of his speech remains his sign-off with a ‘namaste’ that left his Indian fans delighted. He said, "Namaste, everyone. Thanks very much."
Graham had beaten strong contenders to bag the prestigious Emmy Award, including Namaste, everyone. Thanks very much." Collin Farrel for The Penguin, Brian Tyyree Henry for The Dope Thief, Jake Gyllenhaal for Presumed Innocent, and Cooper Koch for The Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
Adolescence also won big with several awards, including Owen Cooper winning the Outstanding Supporting Actor award, Erin Doherty winning Supporting Actress, and also secured a win for Outstanding Direction.
