New Delhi: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has teamed up with acclaimed director Neeraj Pandey for the upcoming film Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web.
The two have known each other since Emraan's debut days, but their first joint project comes after nearly four to five years of mutual interest in collaborating. Dig inside for more details.
Neeraj Pandey revealed to News9 how Emraan came on board early in the process. "He came on board before we went into completion of the writing.. We met him, he liked it, and that was it," the filmmaker told. This quick decision highlights the strong creative rapport between them.
Reflecting on a past missed opportunity, Pandey added, "Besides, we have been wanting to collaborate for four or five years now, something I was supposed to produce which didn't happen." Pandey also praised Emraan's evolution as an artist. When asked about the actor's growth, he smiled and said, "Now that I have worked with him and may sound biased, but there are some who think they have been there and done that, but here with Emraan, he has that appetite or Hunger to learn more is there." This hunger sets Emraan apart in an industry full of established stars, according to the director.
To prepare for his role, Emraan Hashmi drew inspiration from the National Geographic show Border Wars. The actor shared, "I have been travelling for the longest time, but after I signed the show, I started observing them more and spoke to some of them and have friends who know them and kind of got a sense of it and their body language." This deep dive into real-life border dynamics adds authenticity to his performance.
