New Delhi: Actor Faissal Khan, the younger brother of Bollywood star Aamir Khan, has levelled serious allegations against the superstar. He claimed that he was kept under confinement for over a year and given medication without consent. In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Faissal revisited what he described as one of the darkest chapters of his life.
According to the Mela actor, the incident occurred several years ago when his family allegedly concluded he was suffering from schizophrenia. He stated that they labelled him “a mad person” who could pose a danger to society.
“They were saying I’ve got schizophrenia and I’m a mad person. I can harm society. Ye sab baatein ho rahi thi… Main usme fass gaya tha kyunki saari family mere khilaaf jaa rahi thi. Mujhe pagal samjh rahe the,” he recalled, adding that he felt trapped in a “chakravyuh” from which escape seemed impossible.
Faissal went on to describe the restrictions he faced, alleging that his phone was confiscated and his movements were tightly controlled. “Aamir ne mujhe qaid kar diya tha ghar me ek saal. Mobile le liya, main bahar nahi jaa sakta. Bodyguard mere room ke bahar. Dawaiyan de rahe hain,” he claimed. He revealed that he had prayed for help and hoped his father, who was not involved in the family’s disputes, would intervene, but he had no way to contact him.
After a year, Faissal said, he insisted on being allowed to leave, which eventually led to his relocation to another residence. The brothers’ relationship has long been marked by public tensions, including a legal dispute in which Faissal challenged his family over signatory rights. In an earlier statement, he had shared that he underwent a mental health evaluation at JJ Hospital, where doctors declared him of sound mind and mentally fit after 20 days of assessment.
The two brothers had worked together in Mela (2000), which also starred Twinkle Khanna and was directed by Dharmesh Darshan. Faissal’s career began in 1988 with a negative role in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, followed by appearances in Madhosh (1994) and Chinar Daastaan-E-Ishq (2015). He ventured into direction with Faactory in 2021 and later debuted in Kannada cinema with Oppanda (2022). His next acting project has yet to be announced.
