Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja snaps at paps over divorce rumours: 'Controversy sun ne aaye ho?'

New Delhi: Amid the divorce rumours, Govinda and Sunita Ahuja made a joint appearance in front of the media on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi 2025. A couple of days back, the duo made headlines after a report by Hauterfly claimed that Sunita had filed for divorce on December 5, 2024 and accused actor of “adultery, cruelty and desertion”.

Govinda and Sunita also distributed sweets among the paparazzi and asked them to shower love for his children, Tina and Yash. The couple also gave a glimpse into their Ganesh idol and Ganapati celebrations at their residence.

During the media meet, when a paparazzo asked Govinda and Sunita about their divorce rumours, she snapped at them and said, “Controversy sun ne aaye ho ya Ganapati darshan karne (Have you come to dig out controversy or to have a glimpse of Ganesh Darshan?)" She further added, “Koi controversy nahi hai (There's no controversy)."

Further refuting divorce rumours, Sunita said, "If something had happened, then we would not have been so close today. No one can separate us, not even if God comes from above. My Govinda is only mine and no one else's. Until we open our mouths, please do not say anything on this.”

She also clarified her viral statement on Ahaan Panday, who became an overnight sensation with Saiyaara. She said, “I am a big fan of Ahaan Panday. I haven’t said anything about anybody’s son. I love Yash Raj Films. I have not given any such statement because my son is also making his debut in Bollywood. So, please stop spreading rumours. I am very happy that Ahaan Panday has become famous now. I wish that all the upcoming star kids, make a name for themselves in the film industry.”

Govinda and Sunita’s divorce rumours started to circulate when she said in an interview with Hindi Rush, “I have told him that in my next life, he should not be my husband. He doesn't go on holidays. I am a person who wants to go out with her husband and eat pani-puri on the streets. He spent too much time working. I don't recall a single instance when we both went out to watch a movie."

Adding to the fuel, ETimes report quoted a source saying, “Sunita apparently had sent a separation notice a few months ago, but there has been no movement since then."
