New Delhi: Some time back, cricketer Virat Kohli lit up the internet when he had liked actress Avneet Kaur’s picture on Instagram, which he said was due to “technical glitch”. Now, Avneet reacted to the viral moment during the trailer launch event of her upcoming film, Love In Vietnam.
Virat Kohli liking the picture of Avneet Kaur on Instagram, sparked a massive controversy and it became the talk of the talk. It also triggered criticism and speculations online.
When a reporter asked Avneet Kaur about Virat Kohli liking her picture on Instagram, she said, “Milta rahe pyaar, bas. Aur kya bolun main.” (Let the love keep coming, what more can I say?).”
After the controversy erupted, Virat clarified that it was an “algorithm slip” and to not read into it. He wrote on his Instagram Stories, ““I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding.”
However, the cricketer liking Avneet’s picture triggered a wave of reactions and it went insanely viral on social media.
For Avneet, the moment became an opportunity and she gained over 1 million new followers and reportedly signed 12 new brand deals, which increased her brand value by 30 per cent.
Love In Vietnam is an upcoming romantic cross-culture drama starring Avneet Kaur, Shantanu Maheshwari and Vietnamese actor Kha Ngan. The film is inspired by the novel, ‘Madonna in a Fur Coat’. The film is scheduled to release on September 12, 2025.
