Mumbai: Ishaan Khatter weighed in on work hours in the film industry amid Deepika Padukone's 8-hour shift. Khatter said it was priviledged position to be at.

Speaking to NDTV, Khatter stated, "it's a very privileged position to be able to say that I'm okay to work these many hours." He went on to share that an individual needs to be considerate about the working environment.

"To be considerate is to understand that it's a very privileged position to be in as an actor - to be able to say that I'm okay to work these many hours. But there are people in the crew who come in an hour before you, and they have to pack up and leave later. It takes them longer to go back home, so you need to be considerate of the working environment, and decisions should be taken accordingly, I think. That's one thing," said Khatter.

He also spoke of how people are keen on finishing works despite the number of hours it takes. "But what we do is a profession of passion, and often you see people consensually wanting to finish the day's work and not go home without completely completing their desire and imagination, and letting it come to life the way they want. So it happens. But yeah, I think the thing that's important is to be considerate of everybody's time and effort," said Khatter.

The discussion relating to work hours in the film industry started after Deepika exited Sandeep Reddy Vanga's movie Spirit and Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2 after she allegedly demanded for eight-hour work day. The actress wanted to work for only a certain number of hours to spend more time with her daughter Dua.

Vyjayanthi Movies, the one behind Kalki 2, informed Deepika's exit via soicial media. They stated that the film needed somebody with a higher level of commitment.
