‘I don't want you to be an actress': Janhvi Kapoor reveals Sridevi never wanted her to act

Mumbai: Janhvi Kapoor, who appeared in the latest episode of Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, reflected on her time with her mother, Sridevi and how she did not want her to be an actress. She also shared a personal poem for her late mother. 

Janhvi, who appeared as a guest alongside Karan Johar, in the show hosted by Kajol and Twinkle, said her mother was very protective of her during her childhood. "We were giving everyone so much access. And at that point, mom was still very strict about ‘I don't want you to be an actress.’ So she was like, ‘What’s the point? It's fine if people see her with body hair and two chotis and a mustache.’"

She then talked about how her looks as a teenager and how it impacted her. 

"It was just the worst combination of things, specifically for me because my teenage years coincided with the onset of the social media boom," said the actress. Further, the actress went on to share a poem for her mom. 

“Bachi thi phir achanak ek din woh haq kho diya, jo laad mangti thi usse muh mod liya, apni awaz kho ke apni maa ki awaz me baat karti hu, issi jariye me unke paas bhi rakhti hu," said the actress. 

Appearing on the fun talk show, filmmaker Karan also spilt some secrets about himself. He stated that he lost his virginity at 26 and joked that he got intimate with one of Janhvi's family members. 

“I was late to that party," said Karan. 

Kajol and Twinkle, the vibrant hosts of the show, challenged Karan to rate Akshay, Ajay, and the Pahariya brothers on sex appeal. Janhvi tried to steer Karan by telling him that Shikhar looks good riding horses. Responding to the actress, Karan stated, “I am trying to unsee Shikhar on this horse and rank in order of sex appeal – Akshay, Ajay, I would place the brothers at number 3. They have grown up in front of me, you know they are my neighbours, they live below my apartment.”
