Mumbai: Bigg Boss fame actress Pavitra Punia recently announced her engagement with a businessman from Mumbai. Sources close to the actress claim that the couple is completely in love and smitten with each other. The news comes months after her breakup with Eijaz Khan.
Pavitra shared the news of her engagement on social media. She took to Instagram with the post that said, "(red heart emoji) Locked in. love made it official. #pavitrapunia soon to be Mrs. ____#NS." An image alongside showcased her fiancé on one knee, popping the question. The proposal took place at a beachside location.
The comments section was flooded with congratulatory messages. Her friends, colleagues and fans expressed their happiness for the couple. "Congratulations, Behna, on your engagement You truly deserve all the happiness in the world. You’re such an adorable soul and a beautiful human inside out. Wishing you and your partner a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless smiles," said anchor and actress Charul Malik.
Meanwhile, Pavitra spoke about her engagement to Hindustan Times. "Yes, I’ve found love again, and this year, Diwali is all the more special for me as I’ll be celebrating it with his family. I will be travelling to abroad as he and his family are there. I am a little sad that I won’t be celebrating Diwali with my family but also excited to be spending time with them," said the 39-year-old.
Speaking of her partner, the actress stated, "He is a businessman from USA, not at all an actor. A wonderful person, and kind. We’ve been going steady for quite some time now, and it feels right."
Pavitra's relationship with Eijaz began while they were contesting in the Bigg Boss show. Their chemistry was enviable, and fans were in love with them. "I love her. My intention is honest, pure and pavitra, pun intended!… Let us not define or label it," said Eijaz at the time. Although the duo continued their romance off-screen, their relationship slowly began to develop cracks.
Soon, Pavitra confirmed their breakup. She stated, "There is a shelf-life for everything, nothing is permanent. In relationships, too, there can be a shelf-life. Eijaz and I parted ways a few months ago and I will always wish him well. I respect him a lot, but the relationship did not last."
Speaking of Pavitra, Eijaz stated, "I hope Pavitra finds the love and success she deserves. She will always be a part of my duas."
