Jolly LLB 3 teaser review: Saurabh Shukla outshines Akshay, Arshad in this legal laugh riot

New Delhi: The first glimpse of Jolly LLB 3 has been revealed, and it’s already sending waves of excitement through Bollywood fans. Directed by Subhash Kapoor, the much-anticipated third instalment in the hit courtroom comedy franchise sees Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi stepping into the ring, or rather, the witness box.

Their legal face-off is joined by Judge Tripathi, played by the inimitable Saurabh Shukla, at his wits’ end.

The 90-second teaser of Jolly LLB 3 was released on Tuesday (August 12) and wastes no time in reintroducing audiences to the two Jollys. Arshad’s Jagdish Tyagi from Meerut appears first, charmingly insisting that he’s turned over a new leaf. But before the dust can settle, Akshay’s Jagadishwar Mishra from Kanpur storms in to challenge him. Their camaraderie ignited a battle of wits in the quintessential Indian courtroom.

Of course, it’s Saurabh Shukla’s Judge Sunderlal Tripathi who steals the spotlight yet again in the teaser. He ends the clip by declaring that the only purpose of these two Jollys is to "ruin his life.” His ‘Kallu Mama’ persona is also slipped in and ensures a healthy dose of nostalgia from the franchise.

The teaser’s release sparked a frenzy online. Fans flooded YouTube and social media with comments, many drawing comparisons to Bollywood comedy classics. Celebrities joined the chorus of excitement. Bhumi Pednekar gushed on Instagram, calling it, "Tooooooooooooo good!!!” while Chitrangada Singh opted for a row of enthusiastic clapping emojis.

Produced by Aruna Bhatia, Dimple Kharbanda, and Naren Kumar, Jolly LLB 3 brings together the best of both previous films. Arshad helmed the original 2013 hit, while Akshay took over in the 2017 sequel. Saurabh Shukla, a constant presence in the series, reprises his role as the weary yet razor-sharp Judge Tripathi. The film is slated to release in theatres on September 19.
