New Delhi: In a fresh development, Karisma Kapoor and the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s children have moved the Delhi High Court seeking their rightful share in the Rs 30,000 crore estate, according to a report by the news agency PTI. According to the report, they have filed a civil suit alleging that their stepmother, Priya Kapur, has attempted to forge their father’s will to gain complete control over his assets.

Karisma Kapoor’s kids seek rightful share

Karisma and Sunjay’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, have sought partition of the estate, rendition of accounts, and a permanent injunction against the defendants. The children are represented through their legal guardian, mother Karisma Kapoor. According to the plaintiff, the children claimed that they did not have complete information about their father’s assets at the time of their father’s death.

Additionally, they have attached a schedule of known properties but accused Priya Kapur of hiding details and failing to disclose the full extent of Sunjay’s assets. The plaintiffs also accuse Priya of initially denying any existence of any will and asserting that all of his assets were held under the RK Family Trust. They also argued that until their father’s death, they shared a close relationship with him, including holidays and regular involvement in his business and personal milestones.

The plaintiff also claimed that Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, Priya, presented a document in March as a will, which prompted suspicions of forgery and manipulation.

According to the kids, their late father had repeatedly assured them of their future well-being and financial security and further claimed that he had initiated business ventures in their names, acquired assets, and named them as beneficiaries of the family trust.

The first and second defendants are Priya Kapur and her minor son, who reside in a farmhouse in Rajokri. The third defendant is Sunjay Kapur’s mother, living at the same residence. The fourth defendant is a woman who has identified herself as the executor of the contested will.
