Not Kiara Advani but Kriti Sanon to play female lead in Don 3 | EXCLUSIVE

New Delhi: Ranveer Singh starrer Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar, is filled with speculations and rumours. This week in particular saw several reports popping up about the casting of the film. Now, there’s some fresh update on the female lead of the film. Sources told TV9 English that Kriti Sanon is confirmed to star in Don 3 opposite Ranveer Singh.

While there is no official confirmation by Excel Entertainment, the actress dropped a little hint on Ranveer Singh’s birthday. Taking to her Instagram story, Kriti wished the Ram Leela actor a happy birthday, adding that she cannot wait to work with him soon. Sources close to the production also denied Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra’s potential cameo roles.

For the unversed, Kiara Advani confirmed starring opposite Ranveer Singh as the female lead back in 2023. However, the project faced delays due to multiple reasons. Now that the actress is set to welcome her first child, rumour mills are running about her replacement.

Back in 2023, Farhan had introduced Ranveer as the new face of Don with a special announcement video. The teaser featured the actor exuding confidence and mystery as he introduced himself as the new Don. The film will hit the floors in December 2025. 

Amitabh Bachchan’s Don (1978) introduced audiences to the iconic underworld kingpin in a gripping double role, with Bachchan playing both the ruthless Don and his innocent lookalike Vijay. His performance became legendary for its intensity and unforgettable dialogues. Decades later, Shah Rukh Khan stepped into the same shoes in Farhan Akhtar’s slick 2006 reboot, which brought a darker and more calculated version of Don to life.

Now, with Ranveer Singh donning the role, fans are waiting with bated breath to see him revive the iconic character once again.
