New Delhi: Actor Aasif Khan, known for his performances in hit web shows like Panchayat and Mirzapur, was recently discharged from the hospital following a brief health scare that sparked widespread speculation. Contrary to circulating rumours, the 34-year-old actor has now confirmed he did not suffer a heart attack.
Speaking to The Times of India, Aasif addressed the misinformation head-on. “First of all, I want to clarify, it was not a heart attack. It was gastroesophageal reflux disease. The symptoms felt like a heart attack, but I’m totally fit,” he said. The actor’s clarification has brought some much-needed clarity to his concerned fans.

What happened to Aasif Khan?

The incident reportedly unfolded shortly after Aasif had returned to Mumbai following a long drive from his hometown in Rajasthan. Later that night, he experienced severe chest discomfort, which caused him to faint in the bathroom. Emergency services were called, and he was admitted to a local hospital where initial fears of cardiac arrest were quickly ruled out through testing.
Doctors diagnosed the condition as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), often known to mimic cardiac symptoms. Following his recovery, Aasif was advised to make key lifestyle changes. Dietary adjustments, including limiting heavy Rajasthani meals like dal baati and reducing non-vegetarian food, were recommended. A more consistent exercise regimen was also suggested.

Aasif Khan’s health update

Despite the scare, Aasif maintained a positive outlook. He confirmed that his professional projects remain unaffected and that he intends to resume work as planned. “I’m totally fit,” he reassured, hinting at a speedy return to the sets.
One unexpected benefit from his hospital stay, he admitted, was stepping away from his phone. “I was away from my phone and it felt good. I’ve got so many messages, it’ll take me a month to reply to everyone. I didn’t expect so much love. It was very emotional,” he added. While recovering, Aasif also posted an introspective message from his hospital bed. “Life is short, don’t take one day for granted… Life is a gift and we are blessed,” the post read.
