New Delhi: Fans of the iconic Hera Pheri series have a huge reason to celebrate. After months of confusion and controversy, Paresh Rawal, the beloved Baburao, is back on board for Hera Pheri 3. Promising to restart shooting by February-March 2026, Rawal has finally cleared the air on his sudden exit and the film's future. Get ready for the comedy reunion we’ve all been waiting for.
Paresh Rawal recently gave an important update on the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3. Speaking about the film’s status, he said while talking to News 18, “It’s a work in progress. We’ll start shooting for the film in February-March next year.” This confirms that the production is back on track after Rawal’s sudden exit shook the fans and led to legal tensions with Akshay Kumar’s production house.
Rawal explained his earlier decision to step away, citing valid reasons and added, “I had even returned the signing amount with interest.” Despite the fallout, he insisted his relationship with director Priyadarshan remains strong. “A lot has happened, but that hasn’t soured my relationship with Priyadarshan. Aise rishta kharab nahi hota hai. (Relations don’t sour like this.) In fact, it has only solidified our bond. We now know each other in a sharper and better way. Ghaav bhar gaya hai. (Wounds have healed),” Rawal shared.
The cast reunion will see Rawal reprise his role as Baburao Ganpatrao Apte alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Paresh also reflected on the earlier sequel Phir Hera Pheri, saying, “When they were making Phir Hera Pheri, they got over-confident. It shouldn’t have happened... Aur usko leke bada nazakat se, bada sambhal ke chalna chahiye. (It should be handled delicately).”
Fans eagerly await the film’s release in 2027, hoping the new instalment brings back the original magic of the beloved comedy franchise with its iconic trio.
