Pavitra Rishta actress Priya Marathe passes away at 38 after year-long battle with cancer

New Delhi: The Indian television industry mourns the loss of Priya Marathe, a beloved actor, who passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, at the age of 38. She was being treated for cancer, but she could'nt survive the treatments and passed away untimely. She was born on April 23, 1987, in Mumbai.

Priya made her television debut with the Marathi show Ya Sukhanoya and subsequently with Char Divas Sasuche. She also portrayed the character Vidya Bali in Balaji Telefilms' Kasamh Se and later appeared in the inaugural season of Comedy Circus. Following that, she participated in the TV series Pavitra Rishta. The actress was featured as Jyoti Malhotra in the well-known daily soap Bade Acche Lagte Hain, which premiered on Sony TV in April 2012. Her other notable projects include Tu Tithe Me, Bhaage Re Mann, Jayastute, and Bharat Ka Veer Putra - Maharana Pratap. Additionally, she is recognised for her portrayal of Varsha Satish in Pavitra Rishta, which aired on Zee TV.
