Pawan Singh hits back after wife Jyoti accuses him of forced abortion: Your only demand was…’
After Jyoti Singh's explosive press conference accusing Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh of harassment and forced abortion, the actor has finally hit back. Calling her claims "politically motivated", Pawan broke his silence with an emotional defence that has left fans divided.
New Delhi: Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh and his wife Jyoti Singh have found themselves in the middle of a public controversy, with both making explosive claims against each other. What began as a private marital dispute has now turned into a full-blown media storm, after Jyoti accused the actor of mistreatment and forcing her to take abortion pills, allegations Pawan has strongly denied.
What are Jyoti Singh’s allegations against Pawan Singh?
During a press conference held on October 8, Jyoti made emotional revelations about her marriage, accusing Pawan of mental and physical harassment. She claimed she was repeatedly given medication that harmed her health. "He’s saying he yearned for a child, but a person who yearns for a child doesn’t give his wife medication. I was given medication every time, and I hadn’t revealed many things to the media, but today Pawan Ji forced me to,” she said.
She went on to describe a distressing incident when she allegedly attempted suicide after being "tortured”. "When Pawan Ji was administering the medication to me, and when I spoke out against him, he tortured me so much that I took sleeping pills. I took 25 sleeping pills at 2 am. His brother Ranu Bhaiya, Deepak Bhaiya, and Vicky ji took me to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital in Andheri, where I was treated,” she shared. Jyoti also alleged that the actor "used to give me abortion pills.”
Pawan Singh denies all accusations
Hours later, Pawan Singh held his own press conference, firmly denying the allegations. He claimed that Jyoti’s actions were motivated by personal reasons unrelated to their marital dispute. "How I behaved with her, only I, she, and God know that,” he stated, adding that he had always treated her with respect.
He further alleged that Jyoti’s visit to his residence in Lucknow had political undertones. "Your only demand was that I get you to contest elections, which is beyond my control,” he said. Pawan also clarified that the police were not called by him, saying, "They were present from the morning to ensure everything was supervised.”
Legal proceedings and public reaction
The couple’s dispute has now taken a legal turn. Jyoti Singh has reportedly filed a maintenance case in Ballia, while Pawan Singh’s divorce petition is ongoing in Arrah. The actor, known for his blockbuster Bhojpuri songs and films, has urged fans to withhold judgment, saying, "For me, the public is God. I would never hurt the sentiments of those who helped me reach this position.”
The matter continues to attract widespread media attention, with both sides standing firm in their claims. Meanwhile, Pawan Singh, who recently appeared on Amazon MX Player’s reality show Rise and Fall, has chosen to focus on his work even as the controversy unfolds.
