New Delhi: Veteran filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was recently hospitalised after undergoing a neck angioplasty. The 74-year-old director was admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital on July 16 following a reported drop in his health. His daughter Sunaina Roshan has since reassured fans that his condition is stable and there's no cause for concern.

In a statement to Amar Ujala Digital, Sunaina shared a positive update, saying, "Yes, papa had an angioplasty in his neck, but he’s perfectly fine now. There’s nothing to worry about. He’s resting.”

Following the procedure, Roshan was initially placed in the ICU. However, his condition was reported to have improved steadily over the past few days. According to India Forum, he has now been shifted to a general ward, and doctors have declared his recovery as stable.

Family members have been present by his side throughout. Hrithik Roshan, the actor-filmmaker’s son, has been making regular visits to the hospital. He has been accompanied by his partner Saba Azad and sister Sunaina, both of whom have been closely involved in his care. A source told Hindustan Times that "Rakesh Roshan has now been shifted from the ICU to a general ward, and his condition is stable.”

Rakesh Roshan has long been regarded as one of Bollywood’s most influential directors. After transitioning from acting in the 1970s and 1980s, with roles in films such as Man Mandir, Khel Khel Mein and Khandaan, he found major success behind the camera with blockbusters like Karan Arjun, Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, and the Krrish franchise.

Earlier this year, it had been reported that the filmmaker decided to step down from directing Krrish 4, passing the mantle to Hrithik Roshan. The actor is expected to make his directorial debut with the much-anticipated instalment.
