New Delhi: Actress-model Ruchi Gujjar created a stir after she hit producer, Man Chauhan with her sandal at the So Long Valley premiere over Rs 23 lakh financial dispute. The altercation was caught on camera and the video went viral in no time. The incident happened after Ruchi filed an FIR against the producer, accusing him of cheating her of Rs 23 lakh under the guise of investing in the film and claiming ties with Sony TV.
Now, in the latest development, So Long Valley producer Karan Singh Chauhan will file a Rs 10 crore defamation case against Ruchi Gujjar after the dramatic incident at the film’s premiere last week.
According to our sources, So Long Valley producer Man Chauhan will be filling a Rs 10 crore defamation case against Ruchi Gujjar after she assaulted him publicly at the screening of the movie. Man Singh said, "She has damaged my image and reputation by creating a ruckus at the premiere of the film, which has led to financial loss to the film. I really don’t know if she is one, and her behaviour clearly indicates that she only uses threats to scare people.”
Man Singh stated that there was no financial transactions between him and Karan Singh Chauhan. He also warned legal action against Karan Singh Chauhan. He further clarified that he met Ruchi through Karan and revealed that the duo would often fight.
Earlier, Ruchi Gujjar claimed that she discovered that the funds were allegedly not used for the movie. She was quoted as saying, “When I got the information that the film is releasing on July 27, I told him to return my money now, on which he started threatening me.”
Mumbai Police has registered an FIR under sections 318(4), 352, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Karan Singh Chauhan. A police official said in a statement, “The complainant stated that the project never materialised and Singh didn’t return her money.”
27-year-old Ruchi Gujjar gained fame at the Cannes Film Festival this year, where she wore a custom-made necklace featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Born in Rajasthan, she moved to Mumbai to pursue her career in acting. She has featured in music videos such as ‘Jab Tu Meri Na Rahi’, ‘Heli Mein Chor’, and ‘Ek Ladki’.
