Salman Khan’s fee for Bigg Boss 19

According to industry reports, Salman Khan is charging between Rs 120 and Rs 150 crore for his hosting duties this season. Spread across 15 weekends, this amounts to nearly Rs 8 to 10 crore per episode. While the figure is staggering, it marks a drop from the ₹250 crores he reportedly charged for Bigg Boss 18 and the Rs 200 crores he pocketed for season 17. However, the paycheck does surpass his fee for Bigg Boss OTT 2, which had been pegged at Rs 96 crores.

Unlike the earlier television seasons, Bigg Boss 19 will first premiere on JioHotstar, with a slightly delayed telecast on Colours TV the same night. This hybrid approach is being seen as a continuation of its OTT experiment.

Bigg Boss 19 host and theme

Reports have also suggested that Salman will host only the initial three months of the season. The final two months are expected to be managed by guest presenters, with names such as Farah Khan, Karan Johar, and Anil Kapoor being considered. The promotional teaser, shot on July 21, carried a political theme and fuelled speculation about the show’s new tone.

This year’s concept, titled "Gharwaalon Ki Sarkaar”, introduces a Parliament-style twist. Contestants will be granted authority to take key decisions within the house, setting the stage for shifting alliances, heated debates, and power struggles.

On August 22, Salman was seen in Mumbai as he began shooting for the season. Wearing an all-black outfit with a sharp moustache and styled hair, the actor struck confident poses for the cameras. Despite juggling commitments for his upcoming film Battle of Galwan, he slipped effortlessly into his hosting role once again.
