New Delhi: Korean survival drama, Squid Game Season 3, ended the show on a somber note after Player 222’s newborn baby won the tournament and took home the prize money. The Hwang Dong Hyuk’s directorial has been trending on social media with a series of memes and now, many believe that the show must have ended with its first season, where Gi Hun won the Squid Game.
While Season One was all about Gi-Hun surviving and winning the deadly game, the second season focused on his fight against the Front Man and masked VIPs which ended miserably but the final season set the stage for Squid Game USA. Squid Game Season 3 ending explained
In the last game of the series, Sky Squid Game, the remaining nine players decide to kill the Player 222, aka Jun-hee’s baby, and Player 456 along with another to win the tournament and take home the remaining prize money. However, when the game begins Myung Gi changes the sides to save his baby and pushes another player into death. Earlier, Myung Ji promises Jun-hee to help her in the game but ends up killing Hyun Ju, who helped her deliver the baby in the middle of the game. During the Jump Rope game, Jun Hee with a fractured leg jump to death and asks Gi Hun to protect her daughter, who is now part of the game for the entertainment of the VIPs.
Throughout the last game, Gi Hun protects the baby by carrying her around his chest as other players, including her father Myung-gi try to kill her for the prize money. While Gi-hun is able to protect the infant from the violence but things get complicated when the baby, Gi-Hun, and Myung-gi are the only one left and one of them has to die. Gi-Hun finally keeps the baby on the floor but Myung-gi threatens Gi-Hun to drop the baby to death. As two fight, they fall from the edge with Myung-Gi falling down to death but they did not press the button to start the game. So, now, baby and Gi-Hun are the only one left in the game and one has to die to win the tournament.
In a heartbreaking moment, Gi-Hun keeps the promise made to Jun Hee and sacrifices himself. Ultimately, the Player 222, aka the baby wins the Squid Game. The Front Man finally shows up, takes the baby and leaves the island as Coast Guards finally find the island and The Front Man blasts it before they can even reach.
The Front Man’s brother also reaches the island but, too late. In the end, Front Man gives the prize money and the baby to his younger brother. On the hand, he also steals the entire cash of Squid Game and gives it to Gi-Hun’s daughter in the US. Amid all the tensions and sacrifice, he noticed that the Ddakji on the streets of New York.
