The horror comedy will first be made available for easy rental on December 2, 2025. It will be followed by full accessibility on Amazon Prime Video on December 16,  2025.

The movie tells the story of Alok, a Delhi-based journalist, stumbling upon a world of vampires after meeting the character Tadaka. The journalist's role is portrayed by Ayshmann.  Meanwhile, Tadaka's role is played by Rashmika.

On its release, the movie garnered varied comments from viewers. Many compared it to the other films released in the Maddok Horror Comedy Universe

"Nowhere close to Stree2, especially the climax, but the movie was a build-up movie setting up the stage for Bhediya 2 and further. Ayushmann and Rashmika have done well. Nawaz & Paresh were ok. Comedy is a hit and miss," said one user.

Another netizen stated, "Thamma is an engaging mix of emotion, drama, and unpredictability."

Speaking about Thamma, Rashmika stated that it allowed her to explore action in movies.

"I feel Thamma was the first entrance for me into anything in an action space. Before that, I had only been doing performances. Thamma is still at the entrance while I am filming a movie called Mysaa, which is physical, intense, and action-packed. So I am seeing the difference, but at the same time with Thamma, I fell in love with how this cable work was happening, how a little bit of action I could do just this entire world together," said the actress. She also stated that she had no refernece for her character in the movie.

"I honestly had no reference for my character as to how to play this character, and I don’t know if I could tell her name out. It’s a very new space for me," said Rashmika.
