The film has been in the news from the day of its trailer launch for various reasons. Vivek Agnihotri and controversies are often go hand-in-hand and The Bengal Files is no different. His last film The Kashmir Files, also courted controversy and was called a 'propaganda film', just like The Bengal Files. As per the reports of industry tracker Sacnilk, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri's film has grossed more than Rs 6.24 lakh to date. With 1,928 tickets sold across 392 shows till 2 pm on September 3. The film, which is set to release on September 5, has started its box office run with modest numbers.
