New Delhi:  Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming movie The Bengal Files has created a lot of controversy, much before its theatrical release. Although this is not something new happening, the director's movie is well known for creating uproar. What's the entire current scenario about the movie that has buzzed the internet? The movie Bengal Files, which is all set to release on September 5, has planned to release its trailer on August 15. But then the venue owners withdrew the permission to launch the trailer at the last moment. The director Vivek Agnihotri and his wife Pallavi Joshi said that due to the interference of the state government, the trailer launch, which was planned earlier to be released on a specific date, could'nt get released.

Pallavi Joshi said, "I absolutely did not like the way my film was stopped. Is there freedom of expression in this state? As filmmakers and actors, we are not able to screen what we have made. What is the threat they are feeling? Such a thing did not happen even in Kashmir. Can we derive that the situation in Kashmir is better than in Bengal? See what is happening in Bengal today. The film shows the story of 1940, when communal violence took place in undivided Bengal. It also shows events like the 1946 Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots of 1946, a Hindu genocide.
