New Delhi: Though modernisation and globalisation came about and changed the world, not everyone followed the masses and became part of these major advancements. Some tribes across the world continue to maintain their ancient systems and live a life alien to today's world. From food habits to dressing style, today's modern man will find it hard to find commonalities with them. Here's an amusing list of tribes that live a life unique to the rest of the world: 

Korowai

The Korowai tribe, settled in Papua New Guinea, had little to no contact with the outside world until the 1970s. They practice hunting and foraging. They live in treehouse shelters built 100 feet above the ground to protect themselves from natural calamities like floods and other human rivals. 

Himba 

The tribe from Africa’s Namibia practices cattle herding. They apply a mixture of ochre and butterfat on her skin, making it reddish-coloured. The paste protects their skin from the scorching sun and insects. Polygamy is very common in the tribe. 

Yanomami

This indigenous tribe is one of the largest secluded groups residing in the Amazon. Their spiritual beliefs are rooted in nature, and the tribe members practice horticulture, fishing and hunting. However, deforestation and illegal mining have threatened their way of living. 

Maasai

This tribe from Africa dress in vibrant red robes and adorns jewellery made from colourful beads. They are cattle herders and consider cows to be a symbol of wealth. While maintaining their cultural rituals and speaking in their language,  Maa, they have opened themselves to parts of modernity.

Sentinelese

The tribe from India is one of the most secluded tribes in the world. They have been the residents of the North Sentinel Island for thousands of years. The tribe members practice gathering, hunting and fishing. Very little is known about the tribe due to their isolated lives.
