Amid row, Digvijaya Singh clarifies his ‘power of organisation’ remark | What Congress leader said

New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh issued a clarification on his ‘power of organisation’ after uploading an old photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and senior BJP leader LK Advani. Singh said that even though he valued robust organisational structure, he is against the RSS and Modi.

Speaking to news agency ANI, the former Union minister said his comments were misinterpreted. “I support the organisation. I am against the RSS and Modi ji. You have misunderstood. I have praised 'sangathan'. I was, am, and will remain a staunch opponent of the RSS and Modi. Is it a bad thing to strengthen and praise the organisation?”

Singh shares an old photo of PM Modi and LK Advani

Singh has earlier shared a black-and-white photograph from the 1990s, sourced from Quora. The photograph shows young Narendra Modi sitting on the floor beside Advani at an event in Gujarat. He observed that individuals who start their journey from the grassroot level can go on to become a Chief Minister and later Prime Minister. He called this as the “power of organisation”, while tagging senior Congress leaders, which included party president Mallikarjun Kharge, MPs Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Jairam Ramesh, Prime Minister Modi, and the official Congress handles.
