New Delhi: A woman from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh reported that she had been subjected to both physical and sexual assault by her in-laws since the early days of her marriage. The main accused, named Danish, wed the alleged victim on October 24 of the previous year. The survivor stated that she had been sexually abused and raped by at least eight men throughout the months.
According to the woman, Danish is an alcoholic and was an incorrigible gambler. He would frequently come home drunk and hit her. The matter worsened when the accused put the woman on stake in the gambling game.
The woman reportedly alleged that her husband, along with other men, forced her to have sexual relations with many others. In her statement, she mentioned the names of three men, Umesh Gupta, Monu and Anshul. All of them reside in Ghaziabad.
The victim also claimed that the in-laws, including her brother-in-law, Shahid , father-in-law and sister-in-law's husband, Shaukeen also raped her multiple times. The UP woman then said that her father-in-law forced him into her saying that she must adhere to his orders as she had failed to bring dowry from her maternal home.
The Baghput survivor further alleged that the in-laws forced her to undergo an abortion when she became pregnant. The story finally took a deadly turn when the family allegedly tried to kill the woman by pouring acid on her feet and then throwing her in the river.
Fortunately, the passerbys noticed her and rescued her.The survivor has alleged that the accused family is currently threatening her father to withdraw the case. She approached the SP office in Baghpat seeking action. Sharing a post on X, the police claimed that an FIR has been registered at Binoli police station and that the matter is under investigation.
