Hyderabad: An NRI couple, originally from Palakollu, West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, were killed in a road accident in the USA, reports said.
The couple identified as Kotikalapudi Krishna Kishore (45) and Asha (40), have been based in the USA for over a decade. The family met with the accident when a drunk driver coming in the wrong direction rammed into their vehicle at around 2.30 AM local time.
Their children – a son and daughter have been grievously injured and were immediately rushed to the hospital. They are said to be in a critical condition and are under observation.
The couple’s mortal remains are being kept at Maryland Hospital. The family had visited Palakollu about 10 days ago and returned to the US. They also participated in New Year's celebrations in Dubai while en route.
Telugu woman found dead in ex-boyfriend’s apartment:
In another incident in the USA, a Telugu woman has died under suspicious circumstances. Nikitha Rao Godishala, 27, was found dead in her ex-boyfriend's apartment in Maryland.
She had been missing since New Year's celebrations, and her body was discovered by police on January 3. Police suspect that her ex-boyfriend, 26-year-old Arjun Sharma, may have murdered her. A warrant has been issued for his arrest for first degree and second degree murder charges.
The US embassy in Washington DC said in a post on X that they are in touch with Godishala’s family and is extending all assistance.
